The Hunchback of the Notre Dame, a puppet play with innovative scenes
Winner of the Zapp Theater Prize and the public award from the North Holland Daily, acclaimed Dutch “Master of Puppetry” Ila van der Pouw has earned numerous international accolades for her exceptional ventriloquism skills and captivating finger artistry. Within the walls of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris reside not only the physically deformed bell-ringer Quasimodo but also a cat, bats, a cleaner, and a group of nuns. Can you believe that all these roles are brought to life by a single performer? “One person, a complete performance” is the motto, and now Ila van der Pouw is bringing her talents to China to adapt the world-renowned classic, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, into a puppet play, showcasing her unique style of portraying multiple roles. As the enchanting rose windows unfurl and the Gothic church bells toll, Quasimodo is on the verge of experiencing the most extraordinary and fateful encounter of his life.

伊拉·梵·德·波可以凭一己之力演绎整个的故事，呈现多角同台的效果。她那双巧手，仿佛为木偶们注入了生命。在荷兰戏剧界，她享有“木偶剧大师”的美誉。伊拉·梵·德·波曾在全球多国演出，来华更是超过12次。她这部新剧中，爱丝梅拉达由一位女舞者饰演。这位集市献艺的舞女来到法国巴黎，看到了著名的巴黎圣母院，也遇到了钟楼里的驼背怪人。
Introduction to the troupe:
Ila van der Pouw is able to bring a whole story to life on her own, as if there were several people on the stage. In her hands the puppets come to life. In the Dutch circle of theater, people call her a master puppeteer. She has performed in several countries. For example, she has gone to China for more than twelve times. In her new show Ila introduces a female dancer, who plays the part of Esmeralda, a dancer who belongs to a fair. On her visit to Paris, France, Esmeralda meets the Hunchback while taking a look at the famous cathedral of Notre Dame.
